Several international organisations, private or public networks, regions and countries adopted the idea of a rotation of a cultural capital. They apply their own selection rules and conditions and have no relation to the European Institutions. Nevertheless, these initiatives honour the European idea and the projects present a high cultural and political interest. Such initiatives already exist or are under development in Latin America, Arab Countries, Canada, the Volga Region and in the Catalan speaking area. The Centre presents the projects of these cities in a separate section of its Portal and Exhibition.
