The presented project poses as a suggestion to establish in Lodz a collaboration of cultural institutions and to create a unified program of development of cultural institutions. The aim of it is to make it possible for Lodz to become a candidate for the European Capital of Culture.

The first and most important stage of the project "Lodz - European Capital of Culture", which will be realized by the Organizing Office, aspires to prepare an initial concept of the project, elaborate the promotion strategy and prepare the application for the contest.

The period 2007-2010 is pivotal as it is the preparation of a first-class project and the promotion of Lodz candidature that shall allow Lodz to use the title of "European Capital of Culture" during the oncoming years!

Motto: Lodz - Together we can build the European Capital of Culture!
