In cooperation with the Felix Meritis Foundation, Amsterdam and Kulturni Front Beograd, the Initiative "A Soul for Europe" organized Forum Belgrade that took place on 3 and 4 October 2008. The Forum in Belgrade was the second encounter of political decision makers, business representatives and civil society in the Serbian capital in the framework of the project series Forum X - "A Soul for Europe".

The first three meetings in Belgrade (March 2007), Pécs (November 2007), and Skopje (April 2008) have had lasting success and surpassed both our expectations and those of the participants in making "the culture of democracy" able to be tangibly experienced. In the meantime, Forum Belgrade is in the process of establishing itself as a permanent institution with the help of its own board of trustees and serves as a role model in the region. Simply the fact that Forum Belgrade can take place again with the support of regional authorities has an encouraging signalling effect for the entire Balkan region.

The second Belgrade Forum had three main topics:

-          The message "A Soul for Europe" in the region

-          The role of culture for the regional economy

-          The tasks of Forum Belgrade, the importance of a cross-sectoral dialogue and its impact in the region
