Ahead of the first meeting of the Cultural Forum for Europe, to be held in Lisbon on 26-27 September, EUROCITIES has come up with recommendations aimed at strengthening the content of the European Agenda for Culture, unveiled by the European Commission in May this year. In particular, EUROCITIES suggests means whereby the EU could support more effectively the development of culture as a catalyst for creativity and innovation in local economies. It also encourages the EU to promote culture as a crucial tool to foster social inclusion and community cohesion in cities.
