This Position Paper discusses the impacts of tourism on urban economies. It primarily discuss the impacts taking place through market interactions. Then, it discusses the impacts that do not involve market interactions. Thirdly, it identifies the key issues that affect the size and sign of the impacts. Finally, the implications for policy are outlined.
