The educational research project about European Capitals of Culture (ECC) was initiated in 1999 at Chemnitz University of Technology in Chemnitz, Germany. It includes a preparatory seminar for each ECC, a study trip to the ECC and presentations of the project results to the public in exhibitions and various media. The respective project for a group of students has a timeframe of two semesters. The following report gives a short and in some parts schematic overview of the overall concept of the project, the content of the preparatory seminars and the structure of the excursions.
