The ‘European cultural model’ has its place in this scheme of things: it involves respect for each people’s culture and for the interplay between them, but at the same time encouraging forms of cooperation which can nurture and enrich each culture. The question that could be asked are simple, how does the European cultural policy deals with the fostering and protecting of those the European, national and regional cultures and identities?
