“Culture” is one of the key aspects that situate the city’s imminent development within a qualitative frame, support social cohesion, educate the youth, promote care and respect for the historical heritage, open new horizons and strengthen self-esteem, as well as tolerance between persons of different origin.

Segovia 2016 is conceived to promote an ambitious, young and strategic perspective of innovation, opening and dialogue. It believes citizens, universities and companies should become protagonists of this initiative via the experience, reinvention and rediscovery of new horizons through arts and culture that enliven the city, as well as define its positioning within an open, and ample Europe.

Thus, the candidature is constituted as a meeting platform that could impulse the extensive existing cultural and artistic strata, and introduce the necessary elements of organisation, common compromise and coordination aimed at the evolution and strengthening of the cultural fabric.

The result of this effort, shared by the entire city, will be compensated upon the submittal of the candidature dossier in the year 2010.
