NEWS Slovakian cities still in competition The slovakian candidates to the label European Capital of Culture in 2013 presented their applications in Bratislava on December 13, 2007. The jury decided that out of the 9 competing cities, 4 will continue the adventure: Kosice, Nitra, Presov and Martin. Scoop...! The presentation of the Toulouse candidacy for the expert jury will take place on December 18 at the French Ministry for Culture. Saragossa supports Toulouse The city of Saragossa (Zaragoza), capital of the Aragon region, supports the candidacy of Toulouse 2013. This new support brings a total of 34 French and 4 European supporting cities. Umberto Eco our President of Honour Umberto Eco has accepted to become the President of Honour of the Toulouse 2013 candidacy. As such, he continues to create links between the cities of Bologna and Toulouse as well as making the Toulouse candidacy an intellectual and artistic crossroads. He will also contribute to make of Toulouse a place of knowledge in Europe. Toulouse's application submitted On November 15, Toulouse 2013 submitted its application to the French Ministry for Culture. New support The cities of Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Bologna now support the Toulouse 2013 candidacy. A total of 33 cities in the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean support Toulouse 2013.
